Terms of Service

1. The service

Sambhaal is an organisational tool. It lets you record details of accounts, deposits, policies and other financial holdings, store related documents, set reminders, and share all of this with people you invite into a family circle.

Sambhaal does not access, hold, transfer or manage your money, and does not provide investment, tax, insurance or legal advice. See our Financial Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

2. Your account

• You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity under your account.
• You must tell us promptly at support@sambhal.in if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
• If you add someone else's information to Sambhaal, you confirm you have their permission to do so.

3. Family circles and roles

• Every active member of a family circle can see all records in that circle. Invite only people you trust.
• Owners may change roles and remove members at any time; removed members lose access immediately.
• The circle owner is responsible for who has access to the circle's records.

4. Subscriptions and billing

• Sambhaal offers a free plan and paid plans, billed monthly or annually in Indian rupees through our payment provider.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until cancelled.
• Prices shown include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; changes apply from your next renewal.
• If a payment fails we may retry it and may suspend paid features until payment succeeds.

5. Cancellation and refunds

• You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals.
• On cancellation you keep paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for; the account then moves to the free plan.
• Payments already made are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we have clearly failed to provide the service. Write to support@sambhal.in and we will look at it fairly.
• Your data remains available on the free plan. You can export or delete it at any time.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not use Sambhaal for anything unlawful, or to store information you have no right to hold.
• Do not upload malware, attempt to breach our security, probe other circles' data, scrape the service, or overload it with automated requests.
• Do not resell, sublicense or white-label Sambhaal without our written agreement.
• Do not impersonate anyone, or invite someone to a circle under a false identity.
• We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these rules, with notice where it is reasonable to give it.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you enter and upload. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, display and process it so we can provide the service to you and your circle. We do not use your content to advertise to you or sell it to anyone.

8. Availability

We work to keep Sambhaal available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages and events beyond our control can interrupt access. Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee — email delivery depends on services outside our control, and you remain responsible for meeting your own deadlines.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sambhaal is provided on an 'as is' basis and we exclude implied warranties.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, opportunity, data or goodwill.

In particular, and without limiting the above, we are not liable for any financial loss arising from a missed date, a lapsed policy, an unsent or undelivered reminder, an inaccurate entry, a decision made using information in the app, or fraud committed by a third party.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for fraud.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or information you added without the right to do so.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be emailed to account owners before they take effect, and continued use afterwards means acceptance. You may stop using Sambhaal at any time and ask us to delete your account.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
